Initial Manuscript Evaluation

The initial evaluation aims to assess the originality, scientific quality, language accuracy, and suitability (with the aims and scope of this journal) of the manuscript submitted by the author.

All the manuscripts submitted to our system are screened using Turnitin for similarity check within the editorial system. We may employ other similarity checkers if it is deemed necessary.

The manuscripts are clustered according to their sub-theme: Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, Coastal Engineering, Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Engineering.

We highly encourage the prospective author to check the language quality of the manuscript using a proofreading service as we need to ensure the language standard of the manuscripts that will be sent to the reviewers are at an acceptable level.

Once the manuscripts have passed the initial evaluation, we will assign an editor.

Review Process

Lowland Technology International adopts a double-blind peer review system, both the reviewer and author remain anonymous throughout the process. The editor assigns the prospective reviewer(s) according to their field of expertise and the sub-theme of the manuscript. The review process commences only after the reviewer accepts the request for manuscript review.

The editor allocates approximately 3-6 weeks to undertake the review process. Under certain circumstance, we will nominate another reviewer if one of the initial reviewers are not able to complete the review within the allocated time.

Reviewers are expected to evaluate the manuscript on several criteria: originality, methodological soundness, adherence to the ethical guideline, the quality of results presented, the coherency between results and conclusion, the appropriate citation of the previous relevant works, etc.

Decision

A final decision to accept (with or without revision) or reject the manuscript will be sent to the author along with any recommendations made by the reviewer(s) and may include verbatim comments by the reviewer(s).

Under normal circumstance, it takes approximately 16-20 weeks for a manuscript to be accepted for publication from the manuscript submission.

Archiving

We plan on using LOCKSS and CLOCKSS system to archive the articles published on this website. Further information on this will be updated here.
