Alfian Kadar is equipped with a cargo handling device; under normal circumstances, the equipment has a capacity of 1 (one) ton for one-time lifting of goods, but along with the service life, the ability of this lifting device is decreasing and can no longer be used optimally. This research aims to analyze the parts to be replaced or remanufactured so that the function of the lifting equipment has a capacity that allows it to be improved. Evaluation and planning steps include analysis of loading and unloading time duration, planning boom diameter size, hook diameter size, steel rope diameter, pulley dimensions, rope rolling drum dimensions and calculation of motor power driving the lifting equipment. This research discusses using twin skegs, a component at the stern of a ship that is modified to increase fluid flow. Although generally applied to large vessels such as LNG and tankers, this research explores the possibility of using twin skeg modifications on a small Ferry Ro-Ro. This research aims to determine the value of ship resistance, the difference in engine power from CFD numerical analysis with LHI data and fluid flow characteristics on the Ferry Ro-Ro twin skeg. The result shows that the value of ship resistance at a speed of 15 knots was 203 KN; compared to LHI data, it was 12.32% greater. However, at a speed of 17 knots, the difference is around 5.92%.
