Abstract

According to the central statistics bureau (BPS) in Nabire Regency in figures, the number of passengers visiting the Port of Nabire has fluctuated during the last five years. In 2018 and 2019, the figures increased but then decreased significantly in 2020 due to the Covid19 pandemic. However, in 2021 the figures slowly increase and reach the highest number of passengers in the last five years in 2022, with the total of passengers is 178,457. The significantly increasing number of passengers visiting the Port of Nabire has raised the question of the number of passengers and vehicles visiting the Port up to 2032. Hence, this study aims to determine the number of passengers and vehicles visiting the Port of Nabire until 2032 and determine the capacity requirements of the Passenger Terminal and Parking Areas up to 2032. Based on the analysis,  the estimated number of passengers who will visit the Port until 2032 is 202,878, and the number of vehicles is 40,241 units of cars and 52,805 units of motorcycles. The planned passenger terminal area requirement until 2032 is 185.86 m² with an effective capacity of 116 people/5 hours. These results indicate that the available area of the Passenger Terminal can still serve passengers at Nabire Port. Hence, there is no need to increase the area of the passenger terminal. On the contrary, the available parking area for cars and motorcycles of the Port can no longer accommodate the increasing number of cars and motorcycles up to 2023. Hence, it needs to increase the area by 233 m² to serve the vehicles at Nabire Port.
