Abstract

Ship services at the port, including anchoring, mooring, piloting and tug services. Guiding and tugging of ships is the effort to maintain the safety of ships, passengers and goods or cargo when entering the harbour area towards the pier or vice versa. Increased ship visits at a port must be followed by increased service performance. Hence, paying attention to ship service performance at the port is important. At the port of Parepare, the service of general cargo ships and passenger ships has met a predetermined service standard of 2 hours. While for liquid bulk carriers, the approach time exceeds the standard of 2 hours. The analysis showed that some factors influenced the pilot, tug and mooring services at Parepare Portv, which are human resources, where the number of workers was inadequate. There is only one pilot operator available to serve all ships; tug facilities only consist of 1 available ship, while to serve ships more than 100 meters up to 150 meters in length must use 2 (two) ) units of tugboats with a total power of at least 1600 HP.
